The Five Golden Rules Of Flat Lays

You must be wondering how did fashion bloggers such as Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl or Amanda Shadforth of Oracle Fox take pictures showing off their outfits or just bouquets of flowers until it looked perfectly perfect. What you have to do is not only throwing your things on the floor, just so you know. Here are some tips to help you get oh-so-fashion-blogger pictures:

1. Choose a basic background
Do not ruin your followers’ focus from the object you picture to the messy or too crowded background. Less is more.

2. Get good lighting, preferably natural lighting
This is the point of getting a good shot. If the sun shines brightly, open your window or go outside then the good picture is yours.

3. Shot from a bird’s eye point of view
Arrange your objects so that they will look good from an above angle.

4. Leave space between objects
Just make sure your picture doesn’t look too crowded. Make some room, please!

5. Pick a theme and stick to it
Your objects should resemble one theme. You don’t want to look as if you only messing up with things on the floor, do you?
